Bowmont House is a warm and welcoming home-from-home for five people - and your dogs! Comfortably furnished and very well equipped, this three-bedroomed former farmhouse stands on the edge of the peaceful conservation village of Town Yetholm, near Kelso, nestling in the foothills of the Cheviot Hills.
On arrival, unwind with tea and shortbread in the spacious kitchen/diner with its cast-iron range cooker. Then explore this lovely old house which is full of period features, including original fireplaces, pine doors and antique furniture. Tastefully renovated to an extremely high standard with central heating throughout, it offers everything you need for a comfortable stay - from a charming sitting room with open fire and comfy seating, to a luxury wetroom with underfloor heating and cloud shower.
Upstairs, as well as the family bathroom, are three pretty bedrooms: a double room with romantic antique French marriage bed, a spacious and light twin room and a delightful single bedroom with a full sized cot.
With secure off-road parking at the rear of the house, you can set out to discover why Town Yetholm - and its twin settlement Kirk Yetholm - is one of the most sought-after villages in the Scottish Borders; there are two pubs, a butcher's shop, village store, a post office and garage.
The village is a hub for a number of walks, of varying length and challenge, and is either the start, finish or mid-point of no less than three long-distance trails.
And if you fancy just chilling, Bowmont House's attractive garden includes a sheltered, secluded patio - with chiminea, barbecue and garden furniture - as well as an enclosed lawn with a lovely rustic rose arbour.
