Bowmont House
Bowmont House is a 3-bedroomed whinstone family home, built around 1870 as the farmhouse for Bowmont Farm. It now offers self-catering accommodation for five people (plus cot) in the peaceful village of Town Yetholm in the Scottish Borders.
Full of period features, such as original fireplaces and pine doors, and centrally heated throughout, Bowmont House is a warm, friendly home from home.
Unwind from your journey with tea and shortbread and then explore this lovely old house. You will find everything you need for your stay, from the fully-equipped kitchen and separate dining room to a charming sitting room with comfy armchairs, sofa and open fire.
Upstairs, as well as the family bathroom, are three pretty bedrooms: a double room with gorgeous antique French marriage bed, a spacious and light twin room, and, tucked into the eaves, a delightful single bedroom with additional cot.
With numerous walks from your doorstep and an excellent village store and butcher’s shop a stone's throw away, you can leave the car safely parked off-road and abandon yourselves to that holiday feeling.
In the evenings, snuggle up in front of the open fire or stroll to one of the two village pubs for an evening meal. We can also thoroughly recommend Suzie's Suppers for a special occasion meal delivered to your door (see Rates page for a menu).
Bowmont House has its own garden with table and chairs for a BBQ or just to sit in the summer sun. Yetholm playpark and playing fields are only 50m away. Just outside the village, you can wander alongside the gentle Bowmont River, perfect for paddling and picnics, making this an idyllic child-friendly holiday location.
